An Art Cafe in Hyderabad: The Gallery Cafe at Kalakriti Art Complex

The Gallery Cafe is a vegetarian art cafe in Banjara Hills, built as an extension of Kalakriti Art Gallery. Original artworks, sculptures and artist made furniture surround every table.

A cafe that began as a gallery

The Gallery Cafe was built as an extension of Kalakriti Art Gallery, and the two share a building inside Kalakriti Art Complex. The gallery is free to visit, and it is the reason the cafe exists.

So the art is not decoration. It is the point of the room.

Art you can sit on, and take home

Every chair, table and canvas here was made by an artist. The furniture, plates, sculptures and artworks in the cafe are available for purchase.

See the art and ask about a piece.

More than a cafe

Explore the cultural space or see what is on.

Book readings

Readings and author conversations in a room where the audience and the speaker share the same space.

Workshops

Hands on workshops, run in the cafe.

Artist conversations

Artists, writers and musicians in conversation, at a human scale.

Community meet ups

A small cultural venue in Banjara Hills for community programmes and pop ups.

Come for the room, stay for the food

The menu is 100% vegetarian, with good coffee, homemade pizza, pasta, sandwiches and Indian chaat. Parking is available at the complex, and the atmosphere is relaxed enough for a long conversation or a quiet afternoon with a book.
