The difference between a table and a gathering
Anyone can book a table. A private gathering is a different arrangement: we hold the space for you, agree a menu in advance so nobody waits on the kitchen, arrange the cake, and put a member of our team on your event for its duration.
What you are buying is not square footage. It is a room that already has a character, so you do not have to import one — and an afternoon where the host gets to sit down.

The café is a single room inside Kalakriti Art Complex, with original artwork on the walls and furniture that is itself artwork. It seats up to twenty-four for a private gathering.
How we lay it out depends on what you are doing — one long table for a family lunch, several smaller ones for an afternoon that moves around, a cleared end for a cake and a speech.

A menu chosen before anyone arrives
For a gathering we agree a set menu in advance rather than handing round cards on the day. It sounds like a small thing. It is the difference between everyone eating together and food arriving in three waves over forty minutes.
Tell us your budget per guest and any preferences, and we’ll send two or three options to choose between. Adjust them as much as you like.

We quote per guest. That covers food and beverages. Cake and any décor are quoted separately, so you can see exactly what you are paying for rather than being handed one number.

Before you ask
Can I host a birthday here?
Yes — birthdays are the most common thing we host. Up to 24 guests, a menu you choose, a cake we arrange, and a room that already looks like something without any decorating on your part.
What is the maximum private gathering size?
24 guests, seated. CONFIRM: capacity If you’re at 26 or 28, enquire anyway — we’d rather have the conversation than turn you away over a number on a form.
Is decoration permitted?
Simple décor, yes — balloons, flowers, a banner, a photo display. Nothing that needs drilling, adhesive on the walls, confetti, or open flame. The room is full of original artwork, so we’re careful. Tell us what you’re planning and we’ll help make it work.
Can you arrange a cake?
Yes. Tell us the flavour, the size and what you’d like written on it when you book. CONFIRM: notice period If you’d prefer to bring your own, that’s fine too. CONFIRM: cuttage charge?
Are customised menus available?
Yes, and it’s how most gatherings work. Tell us your budget per guest and any preferences, and we’ll send two or three options rather than one fixed menu.
Is there a minimum spend?
